To paraphrase an old friend of mine who wishes me well on my journey, during the tech boom, this place was almost cool. Now with jobs and money scarce, it is just not fun anymore. I tend to assume that the causes of dissatisfaction are in my head first and I look inside for my happiness. But I think that the atmosphere really may have changed here. It is not just me. An Era has ended. The wise have moved on. I sensed a similar windshift when I left Florida seven years ago. People who were not deeply rooted to the place, people who were interesting and seemingly had it going on, were all making plans to leave. So rather than find myself left behind, I helped lead the charge out of town.
Time to move on, time to be strong.
Don't stop now straight to the top now.
